So who is DC Newman anyway?
Hey there! I’m DC, and my official job title is “Professional Voice Over Actor.”
Honestly, that’s just a fancy way of saying that I’m a professional storyteller. First I take your written words and bring them to life, using my voice and my personality to shape your message. Next comes the editing and mastering process to create that broadcast quality sound. And we wrap it all up and you get the awesomeness delivered direct to your email.
I thoughtfully add value to businesses and clients of all sizes. I’m skilled in bringing to life all types of projects: from commercials to audiobooks, eLearning to corporate training videos, and just about anything else that you can think of. If it uses the spoken word, I can make it amazing for you. And, I love what I do.
I have spent almost my entire adult life listening and talking to people professionally in one capacity or another. I have built my voice over experience through a combination of decades of working with amazingly talented communicators as well as focused workshops and professional coaching from experienced working voice over artists.
The early talent years
Some would say that my career path has been a touch unconventional. I just see it as my love of storytelling taking hold early. I started in high school in commercial radio working as an air talent, a producer, and a studio engineer. After a bunch of years on the radio at various stations, I moved into high technology and computers as a technology instructor, training specialist, and support manager. All that high-tech experience is great for your voice over projects too. Especially if you work for a high tech company, or have highly technical products, I have an clear and trustworthy “tech-expert” sound because I truly understand technology, and I can honestly and easily share it’s value with your customers.
I’ve taken frequent side trips throughout my career as well. Things like speaking at conventions, presenting to professional and trade groups, consulting on a bunch of different types of cutting-edge technology, and providing individual technical training and support to people of all ages and levels of experience. That means that I’m uniquely qualified to connect with your audience honestly, and I can speak directly to them on your behalf.
